Q: What is Slime?

Slime is a stretchable, squishy ASMR product. Its texture (touch), perfume (smell), colour (sight), and ASMR noises all serve to stimulate the senses (hearing). Slime has been shown to boost mental health, calm ADHD, and body-focused repetitive behaviour (BFRB). It is also being used in psychological therapy sessions! It also works well as a creative and self-expression tool.

Q: How should I play with Slime?

Slime is a sensory toy that may be used in a variety of ways; all you need are some clean hands and some creativity. Applying pressure on slime results in the best non-sticky experience because it is a Non-Newtonian fluid:

- Poking & Stretching
- Swirling
- Spreading

Slime is played with by individuals of all ages, from children to adults, due to its adaptability and hands-on, sense-tingling experience.

Q: Why is my slime sticky?

Slime ingredients might cause them to melt over time, especially during the hot summer. This may be fixed by mixing in a slime activator and kneading your slime until it has the right consistency. A stiff slime may occur from using too much activator, so be careful.

Q: Are slimes edible?

Slimes are not edible and are only meant to be played with, despite the fact that they are primarily constructed of non-toxic substances. Never eat slime or anything that comes with it (charms, glitters, add-ons, etc.). It will likely make you feel sick and provide a choking hazard.

Q: What kind of ingredients are slime made of?

Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA), Sodium Borate (<5%, compliant with cosmetic safety standards) are the primary components.

Additional ingredients that could be present include colourant, fragrance oil (which could contain peanuts), mineral oil, glycerin, alumina silicate, non-toxic craft supplies, and non-toxic absorbent polymers.

People with eczema (sensitive skin) or those who could be allergic to the components mentioned above should refrain from use. Ages 6 and up are advised for using slime.

Q: How long can slimes last?

Slimes can last for a few months with proper maintenance. However, because of the nature of the materials in slimes, it is usual for them to deflate or dissolve over time. It is inevitable that all slimes eventually expire.

Wash your hands before using your slime and play on a clean surface to prevent dirt or germs from getting into your slime. This will help preserve your slime in good condition for as long as possible. After you've finished playing, store your slime in a cool, sealed container. Use a slime activator to frequently reactivate your slime to prevent melting. It might be time for a new slime if the old one has been deflated for a while.

Q: How could I get slime off my clothes?

Apply vinegar to the affected area and let it sit for 5–10 minutes after you've removed as much slime as you can with a cloth. Next, using circular motions, cleanse the area with a gentle toothbrush. Use hot water to rinse after you're finished. In the washing machine, wash the clothes as usual, then dry them.

Q: How could I get slime off my hair?

Wash the hair in warm water first, then use conditioner instead of shampoo. Use a comb to help break up any sticky clumps as you gently massage the conditioner into your hair. Rinse the hair after applying conditioner, and if the slime has come out, continue with shampoo as usual.
